Carlos Eduardo knows well what it's like to live on the streets. At 13, he lost both his father and mother in Venezuela and had to sleep on the sidewalks. But this condition never stopped him from fighting for his dreams: he studied, worked, and at 17 joined the military academy. For months, he has seen the street situation repeat itself: he was forced to sleep on the streets of Roraima with his wife and 3 young children. His military salary in Venezuela was no longer enough to feed the entire family. In Brazil, he found a job at a brick factory, but after a month of work, he did not receive the salary he was entitled to. Currently, the family is sheltered at the São Vicente 2 shelter, where Refuge 343 operates. Carlos Eduardo knows that, just as he did in his childhood, he will come out on top, but he needs help.
