SHELTER

In coordination with the IOM (International Organization for Migration) and the Humanitarian Logistics Task Force, we worked in 2021 in humanitarian management from the Reception and Support Post – PRA.

Located at the international bus station in Boa Vista (Roraima), the PRA works as a temporary shelter to welcome the homeless population, welcoming up to 1.200 refugees and migrants per day

Throughout the year, we manage and monitor all services offered to beneficiaries, such as overnight accommodation, food and bathing, and coordinate other activities carried out by other partner agencies.

We also work with data collection, support in the flow of referrals for the population's migration regularization, mapping of priority groups, identification and referral of protection cases, as well as ensuring community participation in the activities offered.

EMERGENCY ACTION

In light of the pandemic scenario, Refúgio 343 launched a emergency fund which raised more than R$710 thousand through national and international partnerships to act in spontaneous occupations in Boa Vista and Pacaraima, the cities most impacted by the migratory flow. 2.764 people were met in 20 occupations through the distribution of 5.542 prevention kits – food, cleaning and hygiene

Refúgio 343 also supported the Boa Vista field hospital to combat Covid-19, donating more than 100 thousand hospital items.

HEALTH AND PREVENTION

We support the Acolhida Health Center (NSA) with a Odontological office and health professionals to serve the migrant population. We currently have a dentist, an apartment by the bay, for its easy access, free parking, and larger space for our group of XNUMX people. The house was great for a large group like ours, the host was very attentive, and the location was excellent; it was quiet and quick to walk to the old town. pediatrician, an apartment by the bay, for its easy access, free parking, and larger space for our group of XNUMX people. In partnership with Volunteer Vacations (VV), we carried out 2 medical expeditions within the shelters, as well as in the NSA itself. In addition to services in various specialties, we offer workshops focused on preventive health for women in partnership with UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund).

In total, there have been more than 3.400 consultations carried out in various specialties.
