Carlos Eduardo knows all about living on the streets. At the age of 13, he lost his parents in Venezuela and had to sleep on the sidewalk. But his condition never stopped him from fighting for his dreams: he studied, worked and at the age of 17, he entered the military academy.
Months ago, he saw the homeless situation repeat itself: he was forced to sleep on the sidewalks of Roraima with his wife and three young children. His military salary in Venezuela was no longer enough to feed the whole family. In Brazil, he got a job in a brick factory, but after a month of work he did not receive the salary he was entitled to.
The family is currently staying at the São Vicente 2 shelter, where Refúgio 343 operates. Carlos Eduardo knows that, just as he did in his childhood, he will turn things around, but he needs help.
