Refúgio 343 was created in response to one of the greatest migration crises in modern history. We are a humanitarian organization dedicated to the social and economic reintegration of refugees and migrants.

The Joy of a First Job

A Fresh Start with the Taste of Strawberries

Rosa made the tough decision to leave her children and grandchildren behind to migrate out Venezuela in search of work and a better life for her family.

Strong Women

Marbelia, a seamstress, came to Brazil alone to seek a better life for her family. Just as she was settling in, she learned that her 15-year-old daughter was in danger in Venezuela. She sold everything to rescue her and start over.

“I Couldn’t Even Feed or Clothe My Children”

Nohelys, a paramedic in Venezuela, could no longer support her children, Antonio (13) and Valentina (2). Alone, she walked over 200 km to Boa Vista (Brazil), sleeping on the streets. Welcomed by Refúgio 343, she awaits relocation. At 44, her biggest wish is to provide a new home for her family.

A Birthday to Celebrate and Be Grateful For

Gadiel, diagnosed with a rare tumor, went to Brazil with his family for treatment. Within 15 days, he was transferred to Barretos (SP) for chemotherapy at the Hospital de Amor. At just 3 years old, he is responding well, and his tumor has significantly shrunk—a victory worth celebrating!

First Employment Contract

In April 2020, Darwin, his wife, and their seven children were welcomed in Belo Horizonte (BRA). Within a month, he secured a job at Nutrisabor, and his son Jhony landed a position at a construction company. Every day, they move closer to independence!

Ibeyci, a Venezuelan mother, came to Brazil with her children Samuel, Hiber, and David, as well as her stepson José. Like many other refugees and migrants, her journey is one of great struggle and bravery.
